Learning Resources

Your learners deserve engaging materials! Learning Resources are where you manage PDFs, videos, external links, etc.


Resource Types

  • General Resource, Online Course Resource, Model Solution, Extended Reading—and more!

  • Helps you categorize materials for improved organization and future automation (like AI references).

Creating a Learning Resource Type

  1. Navigate to Learning Resources tab.

  2. Click “New Learning Resource Type.”

  3. Enter:

    • Name: e.g., “Video Lecture”.

    • Description: (Optional) Provide a detailed description of the learning resource type..

    • Type: Select a resource type from the list, options are general resource, online course resource, learning resource in course, extended reading for course, model solution or overview.

  4. Click "Save".


Creating a Learning Resource

  1. From the Learning Resource Type Details page, locate the related Learning Resources list.

  2. Click “New Learning Resource.”

  3. Enter:

    • Name: e.g. “Week 1 Lecture Notes”.

    • Status: Select Active or Inactive.

    • Description: (Optional) Provide a detailed description of the learning resource.

    • Instruction Reference: (Optional) Instructional designer reference information to assist AI.

    • Sequence: Specify the numerical order for this resource within the association.

    • Pages: (Optional) Specify the page range, use a dash for a range or comma as a seperator.

    • External File Host: (Optional) Select No external file, Salesforce files, Public url or AWS S3.

    • External File Type: (Optional) Select None, PDF, Text file or MS word.

    • URL: (Optional) Specify the url to an externally hosted file.

    • Learning Resource Type: Associate learning resource with a Learning Resource Type.

    • Learning Curriculum: (Optional) Associate learning resource with a Learning Curriculum.

    • Learning Pathway: (Optional) Associate learning resource with a Learning Pathway.

    • Learning Course: (Optional) Associate learning resource with a Learning Course.

    • Learning Module: (Optional) Associate learning resource with a Learning Module.

    • Learning Activity Definition ID: (Optional) Associate learning resource with a Learning Activity Definition.

  4. Associate with a Curriculum, Pathway, Course, or Module.

  5. Save.


Updating & Deleting

  • Learning Resource Types: Edit or delete from the learning resource type details page.

  • Learning Resources: Edit or delete from the learning resource details page.


Hosting Best Practices

  • Salesforce Files: Centralized, secure.

  • Public URL: Quick integration but watch for broken links if they ever move.

  • AWS S3: Scalable for high-volume or large file sizes.

Tip: Use Pages field for referencing specific page ranges in large documents, like 1,3-7,9.
