Welcome to the foundation of your learning hierarchy. In this file:
We’ll tell you why Curricula and Pathways matter.
We’ll show you how to create, manage, and delete them.
We’ll reinforce best practices that ensure smooth user experiences.
A Curriculum is the broadest container in your learning ecosystem, capturing everything from overarching goals to subject areas. It can optionally link to Salesforce Education Cloud or other external systems via fields like ECLearningId.
Clear Structure: Keep track of multiple specialized programs.
Alignment with organizational or accreditation standards.
Ease of Management: Edit or replicate Curricula for quick iterations.
Navigate to the Curriculums & Pathways tab.
Click “New Curriculum.”
Enter:
Name: e.g., “Business Administration Program.”
Description: Summarize key objectives or target audience.
Sequence: Numerically order Curricula if needed.
Learning Activity Definition ID: (Optional) For advanced tracking.
EC Learning ID: (Optional) For Salesforce Education Cloud integration.
Click "Save".
Remember: The
Sequencefield is your friend if you have many Curricula.
A Pathway refines your Curriculum into specialized tracks or credentials. Examples:
“Marketing Specialization”
“Professional Certification Track”
“Personalized Pathway for John Doe”
Focused Progression: Each Pathway can cater to distinct learner goals.
Prerequisites: Optionally require other Pathways or Courses first.
Reporting: Generate specialized reports for each track.
From the Curriculum Details page, locate the related Pathways list.
Click “New Pathway.”
Enter:
Name: e.g., “Marketing Fundamentals”.
Type: General, Credential, Micro-credential, or Personalized.
Description: Provide a detailed description of the pathway.
Sequence: Specify the numerical order for this pathway within the curriculum.
Learning Curriculum: Select the associated Learning Curriculum.
Learning Activity Definition ID: (Optional) Associate this pathway with activity data.
Click "Save".
Curriculums: Edit or delete from the curriculum details page.
Pathways: Edit or delete from the pathway details page.
Caution: Deleting a Curriculum may also remove its Pathways and Courses, have a plan before hitting “Delete”!
Administrators / Instructional Designers: Full creation and editing rights.
Instructors: Typically read-only or partial edit.
Learners: Restricted from editing but can view relevant paths.
